Our Job Opportunities
NEW - Youth Hub Coordinator
The Skills Spot is growing, and we’re looking for a Youth Hub Coordinator to help us strengthen and coordinate our Stockwell-based Youth Hub model.
This role sits at the centre of a busy, community-focused space where young people come for guidance, connection, and practical support. You’ll be the person ensuring that referrals turn into real engagement, and that young people feel welcomed, followed up with, and supported to move forward.
You’ll work closely with Jobcentres, employers, and our internal team to make sure opportunities are well-organised, communication is clear, and young people don’t fall through the gaps. Some days that means liaising with Work Coaches, other days it means checking in with a young person who hasn’t attended, coordinating an employer workshop, or making sure the week’s sessions run smoothly.
This role combines relationships and structure. It’s about creating a calm, organised system around young people so that they can focus on building confidence and moving towards work or training.
What You’ll Do:
Welcome and follow up with young people referred to the Youth Hub.
Coordinate communication between DWP, employers, collaborators and the delivery team.
Support the smooth running of hub activities, e.g., drop-ins, workshops, etc.
Track engagement and progression to ensure no one slips through the net.
Help strengthen the operational systems that keep the Youth Hub consistent and reliable.
This is a hands-on, people-connected role. You’ll see the difference your work makes: in conversations, in attendance, in confidence, and in outcomes.
We’re looking for someone steady, organised, and proactive. Someone who understands that strong systems create space for young people to thrive.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Our Volunteering Opportunities
There are many ways to get involved at The Skills Spot.
Whether you’d like to support young people one-to-one, help create a welcoming environment during club sessions, run a workshop, or lend a hand at events, we’re always open to people who want to invest their time in our community.
You don’t need to have a background in youth work. What matters most is that you’re approachable, reliable, and willing to listen and get involved.
Ways you can volunteer:
Mentoring
Work one-to-one with a young person to help them build confidence, explore their strengths, and think through next steps. Mentoring can focus on careers, wellbeing, or personal development.
Evening Club and Session Support
Help create a safe, relaxed space where young people can connect, socialise, and access informal guidance. This might include supporting group activities, being a steady presence in the room, or helping with light facilitation.
Workshops and Industry Sessions
Share your skills or professional experience by delivering a workshop, insight session, or Q&A. This could be a one-off session or part of a wider series.
Events and Careers Fairs
Support the delivery of events by welcoming guests, helping with logistics, speaking to young people about your industry, or representing your organisation.
Volunteering with us is about showing up consistently and contributing to an environment where young people feel respected and encouraged.
If you’re interested in getting involved, we’d love to hear from you.
